5 Top Tips to Help Grooms Look Fabulous On Their Wedding Day
We all know that in the run up to a wedding, there’s a lot of chat about how the bride will look on her wedding day and what will her dress be like. But what about the groom? They want to look fabulous too don’t they?
You don’t want to show up looking like everyone else! You need to stand out from the crowd and be looking your very best. Most grooms will but or hire a suit for their wedding. and I would always say, get the best you can afford. A good fitting suit will make you look and feel amazing.
But there are other things you can think about too for your overall look. So here are 5 ways for the groom to look fabulous at his wedding.
1) Wear A Colourful Tie:
One of the most accessible and affordable ways to add personality to your wedding outfit is by wearing unique wedding accessories such as a colourful tie. There are many different colours and patterns to choose from, so you can find one that matches your personality perfectly. Just make sure that the rest of your outfit is relatively neutral so that the tie stands out.
I think it’s nice for the bridal party to wear matching ties but as the groom you could have a slightly different one to them in the same colour scheme maybe?
You could go one step further with this too and wear a cravat. These are best suited to more formal weddings but definitely make you stand out.
2) Get A Pair Of Cute Socks:
Another way to add personality to your outfit is by wearing a fun pair of socks.
Whether they are brightly coloured, have a cool pattern or even feature your wedding date, they will ensure you stand out from the rest of the groomsmen. They’ll also make a great photo opportunity like Pete here who had himself and his lovely bride Emma on his socks!
3) Add A Waistcoat:
If you want to add a bit of extra warmth for a winter wedding or just make your outfit a bit more interesting, why not add a waistcoat? There are many different styles and colours to choose from, so you can find one that perfectly matches your wedding theme.
A 3 piece suit always looks really classy but the waistcoat doesn’t have to be the same fabric as your suit. You could opt for a waistcoat in a contrasting colour to the rest of your outfit – but make sure it still tones in with the overall colour scheme of your day.
Waistcoats also have the bonus of adding some extra definition to your figure, which is always a good thing on such an important day.
4) Wear A Fun Shirt:
If you’re not a fan of ties, why not try wearing a fun button-down shirt instead?
Button-down shirts have the bonus of being a bit more relaxed and informal than ties, which could be perfect if you’re not too keen on dressing up too much. They’re ideal for a beach wedding for example.
Alternatively, you could opt for a patterned shirt to contrast with a plain suit. This is a great way to show some of your personality but don’t go too wild with this one – it’s not a fancy dress party!
5) Change Your Hair:
Many men seem to stay with the same hairstyle most of their adult lives. But maybe it’s time to think about a change and try something different?
Now I absolutely would not suggest you do this just before the wedding. If you’re going to make a change, do it with enough time for you to get used to it and for it to grow a bit if it’s not quite what you were expecting.
If you’re not too sure about going for a full-on hair change, maybe just choosing a new hair product will be enough to give your usual style a bit of extra oomph?
