TIPI WEDDINGS....⁠ ⁠ ...are still one of my fa TIPI WEDDINGS....⁠ ⁠ ...are still one of my favourite things. There's something so special about their unique look and feel. They are so versatile and allow you to really get creative with your decor. ⁠ ⁠ Yes there might be more work involved in making it happen but get the right team of suppliers on your side and it'll be a lot easier. ⁠ ⁠ And you don't need to worry about the weather either - if it's cold or raining then you'll be cosy and dry inside the tipi. And if it's hot you'll either be glad of some shade or you'll be outside most of the day. ⁠ ⁠ If you're thinking about this type of wedding you should also be thinking about a planner to manage your day. Typically with this sort of wedding there are no venue staff on site so you're going to need help to manage your set up, your suppliers, your timings and any issues. ⁠ ⁠ So why not drop me a DM and we can chat about how I can help you with this. VILLAGE HALL WEDDINGS ⁠ ⁠ Many people dismiss VILLAGE HALL WEDDINGS ⁠ ⁠ Many people dismiss village halls when considering possible wedding venues. But they can be such great option. ⁠ ⁠ They're usually pretty spacious, really good value and provide a blank canvas to create your own day. E&P did just that and brought me in to manage their day for them to ensure they could fully relax and enjoy their day. E&P had made full use of all the facilities and had a lot of elements to their day so they definitely needed that help. ⁠ ⁠ We did have some issues on the day - like the band all testing positive for Covid! and the caterers didn't have any glasses - but they were all resolved without E&P having to do anything or even know until later on. ⁠ ⁠ Some village halls are even licensed for civil ceremonies so you can have everything in one place. They're definitely worth a 2nd look if you haven't found your dream venue yet. ⁠ ⁠ And then once you have that booked, you can DM me to ask about help to run your day 😉 Many of the halls are dry hire so you won't have any of their staff to help you on the day. ⁠ ⁠ 📷️@Kazooieloki_photography
DOGS AT WEDDINGS??⁠ ⁠ Many of my couples have DOGS AT WEDDINGS??⁠ ⁠ Many of my couples have had their dogs at their wedding for part of the day. Sometimes they are ring bearers, sometimes they just come for some photos after the ceremony. But they are always the cutest addition to the day and often steal the show for the time they are there. ⁠ ⁠ R&O had all 5 of their dogs brought to their wedding after the ceremony. I love this shot of them all with the stunning backdrop from Smallshaw Farm where they had an outdoor ceremony followed by a marquee reception. ⁠ ⁠ Always make sure there is someone to look after your dog who knows them - either the people looking after them for the rest of the day or a family member at a the wedding. Much as I love dogs I don't have time to look after them on the day for you I'm afraid. ⁠ ⁠ And always check with your venue beforehand too, not all venues will let your dogs come inside. ⁠ ⁠ 📷️@lauracalderwood⁠ ⁠
A STATEMENT CAKE ⁠ ⁠ I love a really tall wedd A STATEMENT CAKE ⁠ ⁠ I love a really tall wedding cake as it really makes a statement and gives a real wow factor. R&O opted for a five tier cake with lots of ruffles and a personalised cake topper. ⁠ ⁠ They had 2 fake tiers within the cake which really helps to keep the cost down and reduce wastage. ⁠ ⁠ What do you think? Would you opt for such a tall cake? ⁠ ⁠ P.S extra tip - make sure the cake doesn't need moving once the cake maker has set it up for you!! ⁠ ⁠ 📷️@lauracalderwood⁠ 🎂@_cherrycakes_
YOUR FIRST DANCE ⁠ ⁠ For me your first dance u YOUR FIRST DANCE ⁠ ⁠ For me your first dance usually signifies the end of the more formal celebrations and the start of your party. It gives you a few precious minutes alone as well and your song choice helps to remind you of why you fell in love in the first place. ⁠ ⁠ I often suggest that you go straight into your first dance after you have cut your cake at the beginning of the evening. This way your evening guests get to be a part of some of the events of your wedding too. ⁠ ⁠ Nicola & Guvi gave me the additional joyful task of releasing the confetti net above the dance floor at their venue which added even more magic and drama to their first dance. ⁠ ⁠ Perfect capture of a perfect moment.....⁠ ⁠ 📷️@tellyourstory.photography

But it's always a good idea to meet up with potential planners.⁠ ⁠ You can get a pretty good feel for planners from their website and social media. But there's nothing like meeting them face to face as we all know that social media often doesn't reflect real life. You can spend some time getting to know each other a little bit and ensuring that you think you can work together.⁠ ⁠ This is why I offer a free, no obligation, consultation to all potential clients. I think it's really important that we are both comfortable that we will get along. Meeting up also makes it far easier to explain planning services and gives you the opportunity to ask any questions that might be bothering you. WEDDING DAY MANAGEMENT ⁠ ⁠ One of the many job WEDDING DAY MANAGEMENT ⁠ ⁠ One of the many jobs I will carry out for you when you book wedding day management is adding the final touches to your tables. So putting out your favours, table numbers and place cards/menus is all part of my remit.⁠ ⁠ All I ask is that you box them up by table so it doesn't take me 3 hours to sort them out into tables 😅 ⁠ ⁠ My diary is filling up for this year so if you're thinking about getting some help to run your day then don't wait too long. DREAMING OF SUMMER.....⁠ ⁠ Well it's now the 3 DREAMING OF SUMMER.....⁠ ⁠ Well it's now the 385th of January and I'm ready for some sunshine. So I'm looking back on last year's gorgeous weddings.⁠ ⁠ Here are Jade & Rich having their confetti shot with their family & friends. I always love a good confetti shot and the path at Sheffield Manor Lodge lends itself perfectly for this. ⁠ ⁠ I don't like wishing time away but please hurry up and let us at least move on from January! WEDDING BUDGETS ⁠ ⁠ Agreeing your wedding budg WEDDING BUDGETS ⁠ ⁠ Agreeing your wedding budget is one of the very first things you need to do and you most definitely need to do this before you book anything. ⁠ ⁠ It's really easy to get carried away with a gorgeous venue but until you've worked out how much you are going to spend on your day how do you know if you can afford that gorgeous venue and be able to book the other suppliers that you will need? ⁠ ⁠ So this week on the blog it's all about the money. How to work out what your budget will be, how to work out where to spend the most and how to keep track of your spend. ⁠ ⁠ Every couple who work with me get my budget tracker included as part of their booking so whatever service you choose I can help you keep on top of the budget. ⁠ ⁠ I know it's not very romantic talking about money but it's is important you get this sorted out early on to avoid being in a mess further down the track. ⁠ ⁠ Link in my bio @yourfabulouswedding
