Venue Review  – Wharfedale Grange

Last week I went to see what’s been happening at Wharfedale Grange.  This is a relatively new venue which has been converted from a group of barns and what a conversion.   I have serious venue envy with this one (not to mention a need to re-decorate half of our home, my husband will not be happy!)Wharfedale Grange - Venue Review

It’s situated between Leeds and Harrogate, easily accessible from the M1, and surrounded by lush Yorkshire countryside.

The venue has a number of areas for you and your guests to enjoy as well as the main ceremony and reception rooms.

The Dressing Gallery

This is a specially created room with plenty of space for you and your bridesmaids to get ready in style.

There’s a shower room with towels provided.  In the main room there are plenty of plug sockets with a number of seats in front of mirrors for your hair and make up prep.

There’s also this beautiful chaise longue and an ornate huge wardrobe.  This opens up to a completely mirrored interior which will enable your photographer to capture some amazing photos.

Add in the music system and you couldn’t ask for a nicer room to get ready in with your bride squad.

The North Barn

This is the ceremony room which can seat up to 180 guests but works just as well for smaller groups. With a twinkly backdrop and stylish white chairs, this is a great option for your ceremony.

There’s also a sound system so you can have your choice of music for your ceremony.   Your guests will also all be able to hear you and your fiancé exchange your vows.

The Cart Barn

This is a fabulous cocktail bar which also has two mezzanine areas.   Both are beautifully decorated spaces with lots of quirky details to admire.

So there’s plenty of room for everyone and those who don’t want to dance can enjoy the comfortable seating areas with a cold drink.

The South Barn

This is where you will have your wedding breakfast and reception.  It’s an impressive space with trestle tables and classy, luxury seats so your guests will dine in comfort.

This room can comfortably seat 180 guests with further seating on the mezzanine for an extra 70. Alternatively, you could use the mezzanine only for a smaller wedding.

There are lots of pretty chandeliers and fairy lights in here, creating a magical atmosphere.

There are huge glass doors at the far end of the room which let in plenty of natural light as well.

There’s also the biggest disco ball I’ve ever seen which will twinkle over your dance floor all evening.

The Old Stables

A large, professional kitchen where your caterers can work their magic to feed your guests.  There is a preferred list of caterers to choose from which offers a wide range of styles and tastes.

Even the Toilets Get a Mention!!

As you would expect, the bathrooms are again beautifully styled and decorated (please note I didn’t check the mens’ loos!!)

But I have to mention the additional chill out area in here with a ‘charge your phone’ station along with a cushioned bench to sit on.

And incredibly, there’s a Prosecco tap in here!  So you can head in here, plug your phone in, grab a drink and have a quiet few minutes or a girly chat.

There’s a fab video here which the venue put together for their launch which gives you a real feel for the place.

I was really impressed with the attention to detail here and the owners really have thought of everything.  You’ll also find a number of items are included in the prices which are extra at other venues so you have a much clearer view of your costs up front and less to sort out later.

I’d definitely recommend arranging a viewing if you want a quirky but beautiful venue in the Yorkshire countryside.

You can see more info and pictures of Wharfedale Grange here.  And as ever, do get in touch if you’d like some help to plan your special day. I’d love to hear from you.
