Woodland Dreams at Wollaton Hall

Back in April, I spent a very cold day creating Woodland Dreams at Wollaton Hall with a team of amazing, creative wedding buddies.

We put together an incredible styled shoot which combined a woodland theme with a beautiful palette of tones and hues. The overall result is stunning and romantic yet whimsical and fun at the same time.

The beautiful grounds of the historic mansion and deer park in Nottingham provided the perfect showcase for the soft peach tones contrasted with the rustic gold of the accessories and décor.

Pets are becoming more and more of a feature at ceremonies as couples want to include them into their special day. This shoot took it to a whole new level with the incredibly cute rabbits and hedgehog which Wild House Animal Encounters brought along as the special guests!

One of the key elements for the woodland theme was the gorgeous swing provided by BrambleSky. How amazing does our bride Miriam look on the swing?

The Details

This shoot had a floral heavy design and Gigil and Bloom pulled out all the stops to achieve this. Soft peach tones were enhanced with creams and ivory and further enhanced with lots of pretty foliage. The bouquet was completed with silk ribbon from Extra Special Touch.

We really wanted to incorporate wedding rings which complemented the woodland theme. These incredible leaf & twig cast rings from Brandts Jewellery were the perfect option.

The luxe gold floating chandeliers and suspended cake from Storeybook Cakes provided more drama. The cake’s woodland elements worked alongside the classic sugar flowers which toned with the fresh florals incredibly well.

Amy Bailey Design created a beautiful, woodland inspired stationery suite which coordinated perfectly with the florals and table styling.

My table design combined the woodland elements of the shoot with more classic styling. The grey fur I used for the table runner and the velvet ribbon for the place settings softened the dark wooden table and candle sticks from The Ivy Cottage whilst giving a stylish contrast to the ivory and gold tableware.

The gold accents were further highlighted by the candlesticks and the centre piece of flowers. The printed menu napkins which were supplied by Extra Special Touch completed the look.

The Bridal Look

The handmade dress made by Fiona Elizabeth Couture brings to life the romance of the theme. More and more brides are choosing an alternative to off the shelf couture by choosing styles which are unique to their personality.

This unique dress was complemented with shoes enhanced with florals from Lace and Love shoes. Miriam’s overall look was completed with a silk garter from Extra Special Touch and an Enchanted Glass hair vine and earrings from Alexandra Bespoke

Miriam’s natural beauty was enhanced with peachy tones in her make up. Her gorgeous red hair was beautifully styled by Make Up By Leigh.

Our male model looked very suave in a Mark Darcey grey suit which was supplied by Blidsworth Menswear. We added a floral tie and a grass buttonhole for a modern twist.

The images of the day captured by Jane Beadnell Photography are outstanding and I don’t think I’ll ever tire of looking at them. The shoot was also featured on Whimsical Wonderland Weddings so you can see more images there.
